Create your first allowlist

Use the default allowlist, add an extension, and understand when to create another list.

Start with Default

Every workspace already has an allowlist named Default. You do not need to create one before adding your first Visual Studio Code extension.

Owners and administrators can:

Select Add extension.
Search the Visual Studio Code Marketplace or enter an exact publisher.extension identifier.
Add the extension to the selected allowlist.
Follow its state from Queued or Vetting to the automated result.

An extension is published to enforcement feeds only after it reaches Allowed.

Create another allowlist

Owners and administrators can create named allowlists from the allowlist picker. Enter a name that identifies the intended scope, such as Engineering or Pilot devices.

Each allowlist has its own entries, deployment feed, and deployment token. The trial includes one allowlist. A paid subscription's quantity determines how many allowlists the workspace can create.
