Does Allow replace our MDM?

No. Allow works alongside endpoint management tools such as Intune or Jamf and requires no new endpoint agent.

How much does Allow cost?

Jamf and macOS MDM

Download a macOS configuration profile for the current Visual Studio Code allowlist.

Download the profile

Owners and administrators open Deployment, choose macOS / Jamf, and download the .mobileconfig file. It is a snapshot of the extensions that are Allowed at that moment and targets Visual Studio Code 1.99 or newer.

Upload the profile to Jamf or another macOS MDM and assign it using that platform's normal configuration-profile workflow. Start with a pilot scope.

Keep it current

The downloaded profile is static. Download and deploy a new profile after the allowlist changes.

Some workspaces may show automatic Jamf push status when an operator has configured that integration server-side. There is currently no self-service Jamf connection setup in the workspace UI.
